SEO Writing Tools Compared: What Each Published Article Actually Costs

Method and date: Prices below were checked on 2026-10-28 from the vendors' own pricing pages or from third-party price checks that state they read those pages in October 2026. Every figure is listed in the source list at the end. Where a figure could not be verified this time, the cell says "Not verified" instead of a number. Prices change — the vendor's own pricing page is the final authority.
The question this report answers: not "which tool is best" (that depends on your workflow), but what one published article actually costs you under each pricing model — because a monthly fee buys very different amounts of output depending on how much you really publish.
The one formula that matters
Cost per published article = monthly fee ÷ articles you actually publish that month.
Subscription tools charge the same fee whether you publish 2 articles or 20. Pay-per-article tools charge only for what you buy. That single difference drives every number below.

Table 2 — What one published article actually costs (monthly billing)
Read each row as: "if you publish this many articles in a month, each one effectively cost you this much." Subscription rows divide the fixed monthly fee by the number published. Rankenza's row is flat because there is no monthly fee.

* Outrank's plan auto-publishes a fixed 30 articles per month. The fee does not drop if you only need 2 or 4 articles — that is the point of the row. At full output the arithmetic is $99 ÷ 30 = $3.30 per article.
How to read this table honestly: subscription tools win on per-article cost only when you use most of the allowance. At 2–4 articles a month — the cadence most small businesses actually hold — every subscription row costs several times more per published article than pay-per-article. At 30 articles a month, Outrank's fixed-output arithmetic ($3.30) is comparable to Rankenza's single-article price ($3.60) and above the 50-pack rate ($1.78). Volume, not the sticker price, decides which model is cheaper.
